Terms & Conditions
All that takes place within the hypnotherapy sessions is treated with respect, discretion and strict confidentiality. I will keep confidential notes and personal data, in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation, and will provide you with a Privacy Notice, to assist with future treatment, in secure files when not in use. Your GP, family, spouse, employer or place of study etc. will have no access to this data about you and your hypnotherapy sessions and neither will anything go on your medical record without your prior written consent. There are a few exceptions for legal or safety reasons including but not limited to the following: if you are about to cause harm to yourself, others or children. In some cases, in order to give you the best possible treatment and to further enhance the effectiveness of hypnotherapy I would ask that treatment be carried out with the knowledge of your General Practitioner or other health care professional. However this can only happen with your prior written consent.
Please consult your doctor for any medical issues. I do not give medical advice of any kind and as such if you are receiving medical treatment for any issue that you come to hypnotherapy for, please ask the permission of your doctor. Payment is for my professional time, and I do not guarantee a cure for any problem. Each individual responds uniquely, so I plan and tailor your therapy to best match your needs, individual requirements and personality type. I approach your therapy based upon your individual needs. It is my experience and belief that hypnotherapy and its approach can provide many beneficial effects; however, hypnosis does NOT substitute medical attention
There are no guarantees hypnotherapy will solve your issues. It is my intention to help you to help yourself, by facilitating a deep awareness of what is bringing you discomfort, and encouraging you to empower yourself to make positive and appropriate changes. I will make no assurances that I can help you, however, I can promise and assure you that I will do my very best to help you.
I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and the National Council for Hypnotherapy. As such I adhere to a code of professional conduct and ethics, am fully insured and seek regular supervision and continuing professional development to maintain my high standards.
It is important that you always seek the advice of your medical professional/GP before making any changes to your current medical treatment (if any). Any medical questions should be directed to your GP/consultant or other medical professional whose care you may be under. I will require you to have consulted with your GP, consultant, or other medical professional, to have been diagnosed by and for you to have the support of for a number of different issues such as, depression and pain management, before I will consent to undertake hypnotherapy with you.
Hypnotherapy is general considered to be contraindicated for individuals diagnosed with the following conditions, schizophrenia, pathological personality disorders, alcohol or drug psychosis, senility, epilepsy and narcolepsy, bi-polar disorder as well as those who have considered or implemented self-harm or have a record of attempting to end their own life. Some serious heart conditions may also be contraindicated.
Payment is by cash, debit or credit card when you attend your appointment, or you can make payment by direct bank transfer or via the website if you book an appointment online. A receipted invoice for each payment you make will be emailed to you.
Sessions fees are for my time, and are not a guarantee of a successful outcome, therefore no refunds will be given for any sessions where you have attended and paid for your session.
I offer a one off free telephone consultation which lasts for approximately 30 minutes to assess your requirements. It is at this point that I will schedule appointments, generally weekly sessions, with the quantity of sessions depending on your individual needs and circumstances. Therapeutic appointments last approximately 60-120 minutes unless stated otherwise. The first session is often a little longer than subsequent sessions. Between your sessions MP3 downloads may be emailed to you to listen to between sessions. I am available to support clients between sessions by text, email or phone call (by arrangement) during offices hours Monday to Friday 9am-5.pm, and Saturday 10.00am – 2.00pm. Please note that I may not respond to you immediately, if I am with another client. This ongoing support between sessions is included in your session fee.
I will endeavour to give as much notice as possible should we need to alter the timing of our session or cancel, in the event of an emergency. Please be aware that I begin working for you from the moment that you decide to book in for sessions, during the time of your free initial consultation, as from that moment I begin to plan and prepare for your appointment. If you need to change or even cancel your appointment, I require 48 hours’ notice, either by text, email or phone call. This way, I can offer your allotted time to another client. If two appointments are cancelled at short notice in a row, I reserve the right to charge in full for any cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice. However, I am fair and reasonable and understand that on occasion, illness, or other events may be a cause of your cancellation.
Arriving Late for Your Appointment
Please arrive promptly for your appointment, if you are going to be late, please inform me by text, phone or email as soon as possible. I will endeavour to make a full session available to you upon your arrival, however the ability to do this will depend on subsequent bookings in my diary on that day, so a full session cannot be guaranteed if you are late and the full session fee will apply.
If you are undertaking a longer course of treatment, please let me know if you have any holidays planned, and I will of course do the same with you.
When appropriate, your hypnosis session is recorded and then sent to you by email as an MP3 download. This is included in your session fee, please be aware that not every one of your sessions will be recorded for you to listen to in between sessions, and I may send you a hypnosis recording that I deem appropriate for your progression at that time. I may ask you to listen to hypnosis recordings, in between sessions to aid in your treatment programme, however it entirely your decision whether or not to undertake this in order to gain benefit and progression. Please note that our general conversation before hypnosis and after hypnosis at each of your sessions will never be recorded. Please see the Privacy Notice which complies with the General Data Protection Regulation. Never listen to or play hypnosis audio downloads whilst driving or operating equipment, always ensure that you are in a comfortable, appropriate environment that is safe and secure. The audio downloads have been created to assist you and offer no guarantee.
Safety and Behaviour
All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure your safety physically and psychologically. I will refuse to see anyone under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs. If you do attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs, I reserve the right to cancel our appointment immediately. During our sessions I will always treat you with respect and not abuse the trust that you place in me. I will use best practice at all times in our mutual interest.
In return I ask that you undertake not to harm yourself, or any other person, including me or any property belonging to me or any other person. I retain the right to ask you leave my premises if your behaviour is any way disrespectful, threatening or abusive.
